A Moonless Night

A Moonless Night

Another hectic day,
Filled with sadness and dismay.
All I want is some peace and calm,

With no more work or harm.
A night filled with emotion,
That spins the wheel of joy,
Deepening the ocean of tranquility,
A night without the wave of panic.
A night without the tides of spadework.
A night without the currents of corruption.
A night without the sound of the vulture.
A night with loved ones,
A night that leads to a beautiful day,
Gifted with the songs of the nightingale,
A moonless night is what I crave!
It is the only way to avoid misery's cave,
A night gifted with sleep,
That resonates for long and is deep.
It offers the sight of freedom,
And the most peaceful of sounds,
It is the only escape from death's leap.
